If you know, you KNOW. If you don’t, we have been in Mercury Retrograde since July 7, 2019, in the midst of two eclipses and two new moons this month. SO what the heck does this mean? It means you’ve probably been feeling the chaos, the stress, the rush, and the pressure a little more than usual. Mercury rules day-to-day relations, communication, technology, and travel. So if you’re flight got canceled, something happened with your car, or you haven’t heard back from someone….. well it’s probably retrograde. A lot of information makes it sound scary and something we should fear; however, believe it or not, it is FOR US and our highest good. During this time, Mercury doesn’t actually move backwards but just appears to do so. This is a time to reassess a second chance sent directly from the cosmo’s to help us tie up loose ends and have a second chance to think about the aspects in our life and determine what is working and what isn’t. This retrogrades situation is a little more intense with the eclipses, putting us in a state of in-between, where we aren’t quite moving forward (YET), but we aren’t quite where we were. It has given us an intense purge to tie up loose ends, clean up our pasts, and finally get rid of anything that is not serving us so we can be propelled forward into our highest version of life. It highlights everything that isn’t working so we can turn things around and better determine how to move forward more successfully. With that being said, it CAN be stressful, it can test us, and you could have been left feeling lost, stuck, and frustrated. Not to mention summer is a BUSY time. Trying to keep up with social gatherings, work, and all your responsibilities can leave you even more exhausted and frazzled. It’s safe enough to say we all DESERVE to relax… and let’s be honest most days that’s work within itself.
So i get a little help with the Purple Haze mocktail.
What’s in it:
Fresh blueberry juice: Blueberries have been proven to work better at calming he brain than pharmaceuticals such as Prozac and Zoloft. These drugs calm the brain, but also induce stress, which is not a solution in my book. Blueberries have a heavy dose of antioxidants and Vitamin C, which has been proven to regulate cortisol levels and prevent spikes in cortisol (the stress hormone).
Purple carrot juice: carrots have been proven to fight free radicals that can cause stress, anxiety, and depression. They also contain high levels of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, beta carotene, lycopene, lutein, Vitamin K, Vitamin B6, Thiamin, Niacin, Folate, Potassium, and Manganese which can help provide relief to any side effects, infections, illness, and inflammation stress can cause in the body.
Lavender extract: Lavender has a natural ability to relax us helping to relieve stress, headaches, anxiety, and depression.
Rosemary extract: rosemary has been linked to clearing the mind, relieving chronic stress, aids in balancing cortisol levels in those with stress hormone imbalances, and is uplifting.
CBD: I used a THC/CBD 1:1 ratio tincture that provides the benefits of CBD with the further benefits of THC. You can use a hemp derived CBD and it works just a well. I talk all about the difference, what is is, how it works, and the benefits here.
1 cup combined purple carrot and blueberry juice. **If you do not have a juicer you can mull the berries and add the berries and carrots to a blender with a little water and strain it and it works just as well.
1 teaspoon lavender extract.
1 teaspoon rosemary extract. **I make my own but you can certainly purchase these on Amazon or from any health food store. I use a extract vs a tincture because it is more flavorful vs the astringent alcohol taste of a tincture.
1 full vile of CBD.
Shake it all together, pour over ice, kick your feet up, and chill out.
